John Cumbers will be leading a discussion on some proposed work on synthetic biology and space.

Here is the outline (from John)

• Foundational research: promoter characterization scheme. (where to extend Jason's work into the future)
• Application areas, where NASA will get the most bang for their buck.
• Photosynthetic chassis / cyanobacteria for synthetic biology
• Combinatorial synthetic genomics on an extremophile, a la mycoplasma laboritorium
