Week 1 Individual Journal

In the first week of the course, we were introduced to OpenWetWare. We learned how to make our own wiki pages within the website and how to format some things. We were told to write an individual journal (this) as well as a class journal response for the week. We were also asked to provide our reasoning for why we like biology and math. My response is as follows:

Favorite Aspect of Biology: Biology encompasses everything we see around us. In contrast with math, biology is using the big picture and breaking it down into smaller pieces.
Favorite Aspects of Math: Math is using the smaller pieces to read a big picture and having "the" answer for things. Numerical analysis is applicable to everything we gather information about and mathematicians are able to say something about it.
