RFP Discovered mRFP gene in plasmids. Cultures containing pSB1K3 and those containing J61002 were red in color. A 1022bp insert in pSB1K3 contains the parts R0010, B0034, E1010, and B0015. A 845bp insert in J61002 contains J23100, E1010, and B0015. We designed oligo-nucleotides, 27F_J23100 and 27R_J23100, in order to synthesize J23100 promoter. We will digest out the promoter-RFP complex from the plasmid backbones and insert our target promoter
