** In answer to your observation "It had the least amount expected genes. I’m curious as to why this is the case."  Actually, profile 0 did not have the least amount of expected genes, profile 28 did.  The software is computing a theoretical distribution of genes for all of the profiles so that it can compare observed and expected and derive a p value.  I'm not totally sure what the algorithm for this is, but I am sure it is described in either the documentation for the program or the paper written about it.
** I can't really give you any feedback on your stem results since you did not interpret them yourself and only listed definitions for two GO terms.

Week 14 Feedback

  • I have reviewed your results from Week 14 and for the most part, I agree with your interpretations of your results.

Answer from Dr. Fitzpatrick

You asked 'Dr. Fitzpatrick, what subjects of physics have you worked with?'

I've worked on a number of physically-based problems, but more from an engineering point of view. I've done some mechanics, particularly solid and fluid mechanics, mostly trying to infer material parameters from experimental observations, but in some cases designing algorithms to stabilize or otherwise control a system. For a lot of years, I've collaborated on laser beam control problems. These have involved using image sequences to point a laser at a target and using high-rate cameras and mirrors to remove platform jitter from tracking signals.

You'll also notice that we have put an 'image' placeholder at the top of your User Page. We encourage you to upload an image of yourself to give OWW a more personal feel.
