Objective

  • Make serial dilutions of the protein combinations (Soy-Silver, Pea-Silver, Casein Silver, Soy-Gold, Whey-Gold, Rice-Silver, Whey-Silver) that successfully produced nanoparticles.
  • Prep MH agar plates for future experimentation.
  • Perform Disk Diffusion test on bacteria.

Procedure

  • MH agar preparation
    • Mix MH agar and ~1000mL of deionized water on hot plate with magnetic stirrer.
    • Autoclave using liquid setting for ~1.5 hours.
    • Pour on sterile petri dishes and leave out to dry overnight.
  • Dilutions
    • Serial dilutions of 7 protein combinations (Soy-Silver, Pea-Silver, Casein Silver, Soy-Gold, Whey-Gold, Rice-Silver, Whey-Silver) were made along with a serial dilution of ampicillin.

Results

  • 43 plates with MH agar were made.
  • Disk diffusion procedure is delayed for tomorrow since preparation of agar lasted entire period.
