Unlike the reactions in [http://openwetware.org/wiki/User:Paul_Rothenberg/Notebook/Pauls_Notebook/2013/06/04 Isopropanol Suspension], this reaction did not have the reference absorbance higher than the reaction absorbances. Also, the absorbances were consistently increasing over the duration of the reaction! The largest change in the reaction was between 60 and 80 minutes, and then the changes became less substantial over the rest of the duration. The peaks were also uniform, not jumbled like the Isopropanol reactions. The total absorbance at 120 minutes was also much higher than any reaction with the Mb/Tris catalyst.

Reaction of OPD+H2O2 with Mb/Tris Catalyst in Acetonitrile Suspension

  • Instead of continuing the reaction in DMSO, we ran out of it, and the only bottle we found was old and did not give good results. So, back to suspension. Going to run suspension procedure with Mb/Tris in Acetonitrile suspension.

12:55: The reaction was started, and will be run in 20 minute increments.

2:55: The reaction was finished.

Data:

Unlike the reactions in Isopropanol Suspension, this reaction did not have the reference absorbance higher than the reaction absorbances.
