Objective

DMA- Dynamic Mechanical Analysis on PVOH films

Description

Following PVOH Films were Cross-linked:

• 1)PVOH film, MW of 22,000-placed in an oven set at 120 deg Celsius for 90 mins.
• 2)PVOH film, MW of 100,000-placed in an oven set at 120 deg Celsius for 90 mins.
• 3)PVOH film, MW of 100,000 cross-linked with HCl-placed in an oven set at 120 deg Celsius for 90 mins.
• 4)PVOH film, MW of 22,000, cross-linked H3PO4-placed in an oven set at 120 deg Celsius for 90 mins.
• 5)PVOH film, MW of 22,000, cross-linked with maleic acid and H3PO4-placed in an oven set at 120 deg Celsius for 90 mins.

DMA Analysis:

PVOH films were subject to stretch( elastic tension ) mechanical analysis to test its mechanical durability.

• PVOH (film 1) was selected for DMA analysis. By using vernier calipers, the height and width of the film was measured to be 20.49 mm and 0.22 mm respectively.
