*THP Bromide Exchanged Clay: | |||
**Add 7mL of water to ~1.0 g PVA and ~0.11 g of THPB exchanged NaMT in a glass vial | |||
**Stir the solution with constant heating at 75C until the polymer is dissolved and the clay is dispersed (~15 minutes) | |||
**Cool the solution to room temperature | |||
**Add 0.5mL 0.8 wt% glutaraldehyde. | |||
**Stir for an additional 3 minutes to ensure homogeneity | |||
**Pour solution into a teflon dish to dry until the next class | |||
*Choline Chloride Exchanged Clay: | |||
**Add 7mL of water to ~1.0 g PVA and ~0.11 g of CC exchanged NaMT in a glass vial | |||
