I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the lab of Marvin Whiteley at The University of Texas at Austin. My research interests center mainly around the use of high-throughput sequencing-based techniques to investigate bacterial gene networks in disease. Mainly, this involves the use of Tn-Seq and related techniques to profile the relative fitness of tens of thousands of individual mutants simultaneously to map fitness determinants of pathogens. I am also interested in the growth and lifestyle of the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa as it pertains to disease in patients suffering from cystic fibrosis, burns or chronic wounds.
