Less colonies grew on the tet-plates, but they were bigger. Maybe because they had less colonies to complete with for nutrients? We had no fungi grow. Only bacteria. There were two visible types of bacterium, one we called yellow, and one we called white. However, under the microscope the white one was actually two different bacterium coexisting. Both white and yellow bacterium grew on the TET plates, but more yellow ones were able to survive than white ones.

No Archaea are expected to survive on the agar plates. Archaea live in extreme conditions.

<p>Soil settled to bottom of jar. Some leaves and grass still floating. Smells like manure. Film on top of the water. </p>
<br> <u> Good observations of the hay infusion and awesome documentation for the niche 1 protists. I would have liked to see photo documentation for the second niche protists as well. Very complete lab notebook so far... great job! Make sure you date every entry so that as the notebook gets longer, things don't get confused as to which week they are from. </u>

<p>organism zooms around very quickly. Around 37 micrometers in length. stretches and reaches to eat food. clear. No flagella visible, so likely has cilia. Body oblong/oval shape.</p>
