* Prepared PVOH films in water.
** 0.5 grams PVOH (MW 130,000) in 3 mL H<sub>2</sub>O
** 1.0 grams PVOH (MW 130,000) in 5 mL H<sub>2</sub>O


*Standard PVOH Film Protocol
# Combine in small beaker with stir bar.
# Heat on hot plate to 70-80°C until PVOH dissolves.
# Pour solution into Teflon dish and let sit to dry.
*Notes
**An additional 2-3 mL H<sub>2</sub>O was added to each solution to fully dissolve the PVOH.

PVOH Film Procedures

  • Prepared PVOH films in water.
    • 0.5 grams PVOH (MW 130,000) in 3 mL H2O
    • 1.0 grams PVOH (MW 130,000) in 5 mL H2O
  • Standard PVOH Film Protocol
  1. Combine in small beaker with stir bar.
  2. Heat on hot plate to 70-80°C until PVOH dissolves.
  3. Pour solution into Teflon dish and let sit to dry.
  • Notes
    • An additional 2-3 mL H2O was added to each solution to fully dissolve the PVOH.
