June - August 2012: Abreu Lab at University of Miami Hospital. Studied role of toll-like receptor 4 signaling in intestinal epithelial cells to investigate effects on inflammation. Studied high fat diet in the presence of colitis in an Ulcerative Colitis mouse model.
 
December - May 2012: Vacanti Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. Engineered a biomimetic liver scaffold and ran in vitro tests.
