# Create 20 mM sodium sulfide solution
## .024018 g of Sodium Sulfide (MW=240.18) needed for 5 mL
## Used .1415 g of Sodium Sulfide used (in 10 mL) because the sample is contaminated with excess water
# Add 4 mL of 20 mM sodium sulfide solution to reaction
## Allowed the mixture to stir vigorously for 15 minutes
## Poured contents (minus the stir bar) into a darkened falcon tube, to be stored at room temperature
## total synthesis time: 12 hrs + 15 minutes for Sodium Sulfide addition
# Removed 1 mL aliquot from JCS 2 for future testing with UVVIS and Fluorescence
# Added ~40 mL of 200 proof ethanol to each falcon tube (JCS 1 and JCS 2)
# Placed the samples in the freezer. I will check on Friday to see if any precipitation has occurred.

    1. .024018 g of Sodium Sulfide (MW=240.18) needed for 5 mL
    2. Used .1415 g of Sodium Sulfide used (in 10 mL) because the sample is contaminated with excess water
  2. Add 4 mL of 20 mM sodium sulfide solution to reaction
    1. Allowed the mixture to stir vigorously for 15 minutes
