Objective

  • Synthesize AuNPs with lysozyme
  • Synthesize AuNP Nanoparticles lysozyme

Description

  1. Stock Solution Prep
    • Lysozyme Stock
      1. 50mL of 20μM Lysozyme Stock solution must be made
      2. 0.01417g of Lysozyme was added to a 50mL volumetric flask and dissolved in H2O
      3. This produced a stock of 19.81μM stock solution
    • Gold Solution Stock
      1. This solution was made by Monika Gasiorek
      2. She added 0.08533g of HAuCl4 to a 100mL volumetric flask and dissolved in water
      3. Our group intends to use 20mL
  2. Preparation for AuNP and AuNP Fibers - Samples are mixed in a test tube, labeled and covered with aluminum foil.
    • AuNP
      1. A 30:1 HAuCl4 to Lysozyme solution must be prepared
      2. 2.095mL of Lysozyme solution, 0.5mL of HAuCl4 solution, and 2.405mL H2O
    • AuNP Fibers
      1. A 45:1 HAuCl4 to Lysozyme solution must be prepared
      2. 1.40mL of Lysozyme solution, 0.5mL of HAuCl4 solution, and 3.1mL H2O
  3. Synthesis of AuNP and AuNP Fibers
    • Test tubes were placed into an oven and cooked for 4 hours
    • Samples to be retrieved tomorrow
