Objective

  • Cut dried ABS films into small pieces
  • Synthesize another batch
  • Prepare a sample of the ABS film for DSC

Description

  1. Cut dried films - cut with small ForKids Wescott scissors
  2. Batch Synthesis
    • 49.69g of ABS pellets were added to 500mL of acetone
  3. ABS Sample for DSC
    • Sample was cut and massed with a tzero pan and hermetic lid. Masses may be found below

Data

  • Pan/Lid: 52.51mg
  • Pan/Lid/Sample: 56.52mg
  • Sample: 4.01mg

Notes

Make sure to occasionally stir the ABS gunk during sonication. It greatly improves the dissolving time.
