Postdoc position

A postdoctoral researcher position in bacterial physiology (bacterial pathogenesis/virulence mechanisms; regulation of gene expression) is currently available. Ongoing projects include: (1) Molecular mechanisms of transcriptional regulators controlling virulence gene expression and (2) mechanisms of antimicrobial peptide resistance in Salmonella enterica and Bacillus anthracis. Candidates need to be experienced in molecular biology techniques (cloning, RT-PCR, reporter assays, purification of recombinant proteins, and Northern/Western blot) and have a solid background in microbiology. A Ph.D. in microbiology and/or molecular biology is required. Experience in animal experiments is a plus but not necessary. This position starts immediately.
