Site-directed polymorphism and post-transcriptional DNA regulation in VDR gene expressions?

Recent studies suggests Vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene may have a role in transcriptional (RNA) protein regulation and thus may have immunogenic properties to mediate foreign genetic material polymerase (DNA polymerase).

If so, could a SNP factor trigger amino acids catalysis and site-directed mutagenesis ?
