Objective

To perform DSC on the four of the PVOH/glutaraldehyde films.

Description

Films Analyzed

  1. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film after crosslinking
  2. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film with PDMS after crosslinking
  3. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film with Na-MT after crosslinking
  4. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film with 100% CEC after crosslinking
  5. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film after crosslinking (plus put in the oven for 35 minutes at 70°C)
  6. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film with PDMS after crosslinking (plus put in the oven for 35 minutes at 70°C)
  7. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film with Na-MT after crosslinking (plus put in the oven for 35 minutes at 70°C)
  8. PVOH/glutaraldehyde film with 100% CEC after crosslinking (plus put in the oven for 35 minutes at 70°C)


Film 1 - mass of pan and lid = 0.04930 g, mass of film = 0.00322 g, total mass = 0.05252 g

Film 2 - mass of pan and lid = 0.05007 g, mass of film = 0.00305 g, total mass = 0.05312 g

Film 3 - mass of pan and lid = 0.05009 g, mass of film = 0.00306 g, total mass = 0.05315 g

Film 4 - mass of pan and lid = 0.04922 g, mass of film = 0.00338 g, total mass = 0.05260 g

Film 5 - mass of pan and lid = 0.05055 g, mass of film = 0.00285 g, total mass = 0.05330 g

Film 6 - mass of pan and lid = 0.04987 g, mass of film = 0.00327 g, total mass = 0.05314 g

Film 7 - mass of pan and lid = 0.04926 g, mass of film = 0.00287 g, total mass = 0.05213 g

Film 8 - mass of pan and lid = 0.04951 g, mass of film = 0.00289 g, total mass = 0.05240 g

Notes

  • The nitrogen tank for the DSC ran out of nitrogen in the middle of run 6, so we will redo runs 6 through 8.
