Objective
Description
DataMalachite Green Data
NotesBead preparation done using the first procedure (this) didn't work. Everything congealed into single masses. Small beads did not form. It is likely because this procedure adds the gultaraldehyde to the ethyl acetate before adding the solution dropwise. The second procedure works well, but it works better with the 3% bentonite solution as opposed to the solid clay. The beads made using solid clay are a little larger than the ones made with the solution. The film with glyoxyl dissolved a little in the HCl during the crosslinking process showing that it is not a suitable film. The other two films did not dissolve at all.
