UV-Vis

Procedure

  1. Solutions were prepared on 10/18/2016
    1. The solutions had been heated in an 80C oven for four hours and then sat at room temperature. UV-Vis spectra were taken of each sample from 200-800nm.
    2. The test tubes were kept completely wrapped in tin foil the entire time, because AgNO3 is light sensitive.

Observations

  1. As with gold, it is at pH 11 and pH 12 that unique spectra are seen.
    1. The solutions are more clear at pH 11 and pH 12 than for the other solutions.
    2. As fructose concentration increases, so does the cloudiness of the solutions (for pH 11 and pH 12)
    3. pH was also more clear for all fructose concentrations.

Future Experiments To Do
