Testing Beads' filtration ability - Heavy Metals

1. Preparation of solution for 20 ppm concentration

  • 20 mL of metal solution + 80 mL water
  • Solution with 21.16 mg ZnCl2 + 21.15 mg CuCl2 + 15.7 mg PbAc2 + 100 mL H2O
    • Mass meassured:

3. Procedure

Preparation of Stock Solution

1. Zn - 100 ppm

  • 0.02115 g of ZnCl2 in 100 mL
    • 100mL*1L/1000mL*100mg Zn/1L*138.315 g/mol ZnCl2/65.38 g/mol Zn = 21.15 mg ZnCl2
    • Mass meassured: 0.0212 g

2. Cu - 100 ppm

  • 0.0212 g of CuCl2 in 100 mL
    • 100mL*1L/1000mL*100mg Cu/1L*134.45 g/mol CuCl2/63.54 g/mol Cu = 21.16 mg CuCl2
    • Mass meassured: 0.0214 g

3. Pb - 100 ppm

  • 0.0157 g of PbAc2 in 100 mL
    • 100mL*1L/1000mL*100mg Pb/1L*325.29 g/mol PbAc/207.2 g/mol Cu = 15.7 mg PbAc2
    • Mass meassured: 0.0158 g
