Stock solutions

Yesterday and today I prepared stock solutions for heavy hydrogen PEM and deuterium depleted PEM. The procedure/recipe for both of these are below.

Heavy Hydrogen PEM

I am going to call this H-PEM to indicate that it is made up of heavy hydrogen water or, D2O. I didn't call it D-PEM for reasons below.

Deuterium depleted PEM

This is called DD-PEM.

    • 800 mM PIPES
    • 10 mM EGTA
    • 10 mM MgCl2
    • 1.2265 M NaOH
    • pH 6.89
    • Filtered through a 0.2 um filter and aliquoted in 2 mL screw top cryogenic vials in the 4C fridge.
