  • Take absorbance/fluorescence spec of 2uL AuNP@SiO2

Procedures

Post-TEM observations of AuNPs concluded that 2uL TES was the appropriate volume to obtain a silica shell thickness suitable for DNA/ThT attachment. Before attaching the DNA to the silica surface, it is imperative that we confirm that the silica shell does not produce a fluorescence signal. To do this, we will excite a solution of 10X diluted AuNP@SiO2 solution at the same wavelength ThT fluoresces at, 440nm.
