Objective

Conductivity of PVOH films

Description

Measure the conductivity of a PVOH film crosslinked with glutaraldehyde (see 9/14/12 for procedure) at different time intervals.

Data

cell constants: 0.4663 (orion versa star) 0.479 (orion 5 star)

The following solutions were used on either side of the film

  • ion solution of 100ppm Cl-, 100ppm Br-, 100ppm SO4 2- (as Na+ salts) (initially at 18.2mL, 29.0mL with probe inserted)
  • HPLC grade water (initially at 18.7mL, 31.0mL with probe inserted)
Time Conductivity (ion soln) Conductivity (water)
0 730 10.25
