Tasks for October 22

  • To analyse films in Bisphenol A (BPA)
  • To finish film synthesis from Oct. 17
  • To finish measuring density of films (Reported on 17/10 Notebook entry)

Completion of film synthesis

Placed film in sodium sulfate, 1% HCl and sodium bicarbonate.

Measuring absorbance of films in PBA

  • Soaked PVA-Clay polymer films in 10 ppm PBA and measured absorbance twice ( from two scintillation vials) at each time slot.
    • Note that the 10 ppm PBA solution was made by James and Eleni
    • During UV-Vis measurements films were removed to avoid further absorption of chemicals.
