Tanja Reuter was a DFG postdoctoral fellow from 2001-2002. Tanja performed studies that were an essential foundation for the development of the Xenopus model for Fanconi anemia. Following her postdoctoral fellowship in the Hoatlin Lab she became a Staff Scientist at DeveloGen, a biotech company based in Germany. She is currently a Group Leader at Merck KGaA, in the Cardio-Metabolic Research Section. She directs the "New Concept Group", where she identifies new ideas for potential therapeutic targets. She and her husband Stefan, who is also a scientist, live in Germany with their daughter, Nike, and a son, born in June 2007.
