It would be good to have a discussion of waste disposal in this section.

Skoch3 05:06, 3 February 2007 (EST): I've been around a few different methods for cleaning glass coverslips specifically for the purpose of single-molecule tethered DNA experiments. Just in case anyone else feels we should add these "protocols." The reason I use the "" is because I'm not aware of any real studies about the most effective glass treatment for single-molecule DNA tethering. Here are the few methods:

• Bath sonication in ethanol followed by DI water. I believe this method worked fine, but was sort of tedious.
• UV-Ozone. I used this method personally while at Sandia, and I think it worked well.
• Windex wipe, followed by lots of DI water and compressed air drying. (I'm almost embarrassed to write this, but worked great.)
• Of these three, I would wish someone would prove UV-Ozone most effective as it is so easy.
