we started our lab in 2007 at the leibniz institute of plant biochemistry in halle. we are primarily interested in auxin and other plant hormone responses in the tiny weed arabidopsis thaliana. since several of these signaling cascades are regulated by the ubiquitin-proteasome system, we are also engaged in functional characterization of a number of f-box proteins. we apply mostly genetic approaches such as forward genetic screens, utilizing natural variation within the global arabidopsis gene pool, and quantitative genetics (qtl mapping).
