howdy,
besides trying to figure out how to eat noodles without tomato sauce all over your face, our lab is primarily interested in plant hormone responses in the tiny weed arabidopsis thaliana. since several of these signaling cascades are regulated by the ubiquitin-proteasome system, we are also engaged in functional characterization of a number of f-box proteins. we apply mostly genetic approaches such as forward genetic screens, making use of natural variation within the global arabidopsis gene pool, and quantitative genetics (qtl mapping).
