OpenWetWare is looking for contributors interested in scientific and technical writing.

===What is OpenWetWare?===
OpenWetWare (OWW) is an effort to promote the sharing of information, know-how, and wisdom among researchers and groups who are working in biology & biological engineering. OWW provides a place for labs, individuals, and groups to organize their own information and collaborate with others easily and efficiently. In the process, we hope that OWW will not only lead to greater collaboration between member groups, but also provide a useful information portal to our colleagues, and ultimately the rest of the world.

OpenWetWare contains a diverse range of information including
*research project descriptions ([[Endy:Research|example]])
*protocols ([[Beta-Galactosidase Assay (A better Miller)|example]])
*information on materials ([[E. coli genotypes|example]])
*course materials ([[BE.109:DNA engineering/DNA engineering by PCR|example]])

and more.

The regular users of OpenWetWare are primarily students, postdocs and faculty in biology and biological engineering. We also get a lot of users who come upon the site by surfing the web. The OpenWetWare front page gets over 5000 unique visitors per day (as of Fall 2006).

===Why should I post my work on OpenWetWare?===
Posting your work on OpenWetWare gives you a way of reaching a pretty large and diverse scientific community that is committed to making scientific information freely available online.

===I've never written before, is that ok?===
Sure. Novices and amateur writers are welcome. We'd also welcome students or teachers looking to make written pieces from classes available via OpenWetWare.
