Maureen Hoatlin received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from OHSU in 1993. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Old Dominion University. After work as an analytical chemist SRI International in Menlo Park, CA on nucleoside anti-tumor agents, she spent 6 years as a research associate at Genentech, Inc. She arrived at OHSU in 1989, for graduate research with David Kabat, focusing on retro viral-mediated pathogenesis in hematopoiesis, followed by postgraduate work in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology. Hoatlin was a visiting scientist at the Free University of Amsterdam in 1998-1999. She joined Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as an assistant professor in 2000.
