Hello, iGEMs!

We are UNAM-Genomics-México team, and we are eagerly looking forward to meeting you in this year's iGEM Jamboree!

Who are we?

We are students from the Undergraduate Program on Genomic Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and we are proud to be so! Our program focuses on integrative understanding of molecular genetics up to the cellular level, along the learning of informatics tools to address biological questions. For the third consecutive year, the initiative of starting, organizing, and developing an iGEM project from start to end has come solely from us undergrads, so we are completely in tune with the iGEM philosophy.

Where are we?

The Bachelor in Genomic Sciences program is held at the Center for Genomic Sciences from the National University (UNAM), which is located at the highest point of Cuernavaca city in the state of Morelos, an hour south to Mexico City. Cuernavaca is commonly called "The city of the eternal spring" since the weather is mostly warm throughout the year (sometimes this rule is violently broken).
