Project

In designing our bioprinter, we followed the engineering cycle. Thus we start with basic specifications our project needs to meet to fulfil our aims...

Specifications

Controllable motility (motility)

    • Quick and effective control (stopping, specific time?)
    • Reversible - not necessarily as important as stopping, but would be good for it to be able to start again

Ability to respond to outside stimuli (light)

    • Must have a reasonable (specific?) response time
    • Must be able to be coupled to an inducible promoter
    • Detectable be compatible with the chassis and be able to be over-expressable to increase efficiency
    • Must have minimal negative secondary effects

Biomaterial synthesis and excretion (biomaterials)

    • Should be able to effectively secrete detectable amounts of peptides into the growth medium.
    • Self-assembly outside the chassis to form a 3D structure
    • Small peptide for easy excretion
