UV-Vis Spectrometry
Using the Shimadzu UV-Vis Spectrometer
Startup
- Open the LCD screen on the spectrometer
- Turn ON the spectrometer
- Wait for >3.5 minutes for the instrument to initialize
- If initialization stalls, turn OFF the spectrometer and repeat until the spectrometer completes the checklist (2-3 times is typical)
- Press F4 on the spectrometer to turn control over to the PC
- At any time turn ON the computer
- Open the software
- On the menu option "Configure > Utilities" make sure "spectrophotometer ON" is checked
