Accessing Saeijlab10.mit.edu

In order to access the file server each user requires:

  • MIT ID
  • Active MIT Kerberos Account < email account >
  • Be placed on the Saeijlab email list
  • Contact the system Administrator - for home directory account creation

The machine can be accessible from a WINDOWS, MACINTOSH workstation or computer.

The Fileserver is accessible from off campus using the appropriate VPN Client for IS&T.

Mapping Network Drives


MAPPING THE DRIVE TO YOUR PC OR MAC

Choose a method to link to the server.

Windows
  • Right Click on "My Computer"
  • Select "Map Network drive"
  • Enter Folder "\\saeij10.mit.edu\data"
  • Select "different username"
  • Username = yourname@win.mit.edu
  • Email password
Macintosh
  • Attach a server using option-J
  • Enter: cifs://saeij10.mit.edu/data
  • HIT the + save
  • select the path
  • click it
  • Connect
  • Confirm : workgroup
  • Name (emailname ) very important
  • Email password
  • enter
