Collaborators

We reach better outcomes through cooperation. I'm devoted to full and open collaboration whenever and wherever feasible. Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Undergraduate Semester/Summer Internships

We are constantly looking for highly motivated undergraduate students that want to gain experience working in a research lab. Please feel free to contact us and/or attend our lab meetings.

MS and PhD Student Positions

Please see the department website for information on application procedures.

Secondary Science Teachers

I'm a strong advocate of experiential and exploratory learning in the sciences. I am also devoted to making my research accessible to everyone who would like to participate. Several of our assays can be adapted for implementation in a high school laboratory setting. Of particular interest might be biofilm formation, antibiotic resistance, phagocytosis by the amoeba Dictyostelium, predation by the microscopic worm C. elegans, or pigment production by soil bacteria. We will provide instruction, training, and reagents, and as many materials as we are able. If this sounds at all like something you might be interested in, please contact me.

High School Students

Many of our assays are also adaptable for science fair projects. For safety reasons, I require that you perform microbiological work under the guidance of a high school science teacher and I can only ship materials to a school address. Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo residents may be able to intern at the lab at NDSU. If interested in either option, please contact me.
