We are looking for a postdoc to work on genome elimination caused by centromere alterations. Please [mailto:srchan@ucdavis.edu email Simon] if you are interested. Include your CV and a brief description of a project you might pursue in our lab.

Welcome to Simon Chan's Lab

With deep regret we inform you that Simon Chan (1974-2012) has passed away on Aug 22nd at an age of 38

We study chromosome inheritance using the small plant Arabidopsis thaliana.

Haploid plants (represented by pink pots) have only one copy of each chromosome, and are very useful in plant breeding. We have produced haploids by manipulating centromeres. Image by Janet Iwasa.
