 Overview

Biomolecular motors (kinesin/microtubule(MT)) are regarded as one of the smallest natural machines
which can perform work with a high efficiency. Because of this reason, biomolecular motors are thought
to be a component of molecular robot which has small size and high performance. Microtubules are driven
by kinesin where the energy comes from the hydrolysis of ATP to ADP. Therefore, without adding ATP,
microtubule cannot continue moving on the kinesin coated surface for a long time. We make it possible
to run the biomolecular motor for a longer time by introducing ATP-reproducing system termed as MARIMO-Gel.
Our project will offer a method which can put into practice the molecular-robot in the future.
