He is the man with the plan. We evolved from nano-nothing to NANORMOUS, credit mostly goes to his consolidated efforts. Caught in the middle of love triangle of three B's, Biology-Board games-Beer, he knows how to dance through all three of them.
Robin is extremely hardworking and talented. He has a goal, working with drug delivery systems, and being as determined as he is, he has already started! Robin was the perfect guy for the polymersome synthesis and characterization, as he did not distinguish between weekends and workdays. But apart from this, he cooks damn good Indian food and is a very fun loving person. He gives out a good vibe to be around!

Our little innocent 'Annie' is one of the most patient people in the world you would meet. Always smiling she never gets tired of teaching people correct pronunciations in Mandarin and apart from being extremely hardworking on our DNA origami, she also possesses gifted artistic skills. Making sure our channels are folded nicely she spent a lot of the last months travelling to HZDR and back to Dresden.

Always calm and keen to work more he was always there to deliver the saving 'kick' we needed, be it for finding financers, organizing the website and TEM imaging for example.

Robin Abraham

  • Stefan Scheurer

    Austria

He is the man with the plan. We evolved from nano-nothing to NANORMOUS, credit mostly goes to his consolidated efforts. Caught in the middle of love triangle of three B's, Biology-Board games-Beer, he knows how to dance through all three of them. His leadership and quest for financers have held the team together and helped us move forward in a positive path.

  • Robin Abraham

    India

Robin is extremely hardworking and talented. He has a goal, working with drug delivery systems, and being as determined as he is, he has already started! Robin was the perfect guy for the polymersome synthesis and characterization, as he did not distinguish between weekends and workdays. But apart from this, he cooks damn good Indian food and is a very fun loving person. He gives out a good vibe to be around!

  • Dilyana Kirova

    Bulgaria

'Didi', as we all like to call her is a very fun loving and reliable person to be around. She is full of energy and ideas and is a major contribution to our team. Recently her head revolves mainly around black leather, enzymes and rock music. She took upon the responsibility of major experiments for our internal reaction and proved herself very well.

  • Gisela Gabernet Garriga

    Spain

In a complicated relationship with Coffee and DNA origami. This young woman from Catalonia was one of the main driving forces in our project, bringing her origami from desk to bench was only the beginning. Together with Dilyana and Robin she was carrying the organization of our experiments on her shoulders when she was not climbing mountains in the Saxonian Swiss at the moment.

  • Neha Goveas

    India

Her name means 'Love' in Hindi and she keeps what her names promises. Always bouncy, smiling and full of energy she basically knows everyone in Dresden, took care of our PR besides of a million of other teeny tiny tasks like ordering our T-shirts and keeping a watchful eye on the visa processes for our flights to the US.

  • Yan Zou

    China

Our little innocent 'Annie' is one of the most patient people in the world you would meet. Always smiling she never gets tired of teaching people correct pronunciations in Mandarin and apart from being extremely hardworking on our DNA origami, she also possesses gifted artistic skills. Making sure our channels are folded nicely she spent a lot of the last months travelling to HZDR and back to Dresden.

  • Vaibhav Narula

    India

This typical New Delhi Boy is a very free spirited and cheerful person by heart, hence his nickname 'Sunny'. He is very enthusiastic and passionate about everything he does. He supported the team at various steps with his 'out of the box' thinking and has his head full of dreams. He never grows tired searching for the silver lining on the horizon and proved his talent for improvisation on several occasions.

  • Mario Jesus Avellaneda

    Spain

This guy is a proud Spaniard like you can find him in the books, beginning from heated discussions up to shaking hands with the king himself. He is responsible for our amazing video creation, a great guy with an amazing sense of humor and always brightens up our weekly project meetings.

  • Frederic Berndt

    Germany

He is one person who plans to be late, but is still always before time. Our German guy is one of the most hardworking people in the group. The 'physicist' of Nanormous wanted to create life and was the father of our idea. Always calm and keen to work more he was always there to deliver the saving 'kick' we needed, be it for finding financers, organizing the website and TEM imaging for example.

  • Anastasia Solomatina

    Russia

'Nastia' is a soft spoken angel. She is the sweetest person you could meet. She is very calm and patient. She was the last one to join our team and has been extremely resourceful and put a lot of efforts into late night dialysis experiments, coupled with dancing through the benches. She is a fitness freak, loves to play volleyball and is very health conscious.

  • Hafees Deen

    India

He might seem reserved and shy in the beginning but actually has a secret sense of humor! He is a very responsible and calm, always eager to help in any way he can. During the day you might find him playing volleyball, during the night he disappears in the labs of IPF. Robin's and his trip to Basel with Prof. Braun's was just the beginning of his journey to deliver only the best polymersomes for our project that he could get.

  • Hans-Georg Braun

    Germany

Dr. Braun heads the microstructure group at the IPF research Unit Biofunctional Polymer Materials at the Max Bergmann center of biomaterials. His research deals with micro and nano structuring techniques for polymers and liquids.

He has been a big support to our team in every aspect, spreading his motivation for polymers through the group.

  • Michael Schlierf

    Germany

Michael Schlierf is the junior group leader at the B-cube research center in Dresden, where he works with fluorescence and/or force based single molecule techniques.

He has been a real mentor to us. He has been extremely patient in listening to our queries and always provided us with helpful feedbacks and solutions.

  • Lucas Schirmer

    Germany

Lucas Schirmer is a PhD student in the Max-Bergmann Center for Biomaterials. He has not only been the mastermind behind developing our Wiki page, but was also involved in designing the wiki page for last years, Dresden Nanosaurs team which further went on to secure the second place for best wiki.

  • Banu Iyisan

    Turkey

Banu Iyisan is a PhD candidate at Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden working under guidance of Prof. Dr. Brigitte Voit and Dr. Appelhans. Her PhD study focus on synthesis, characterization and self-assembly of photoactive block copolymers for the preparation of photoactive polymersome/gold nanoparticles assemblies.

  • Francesco Reddavide

    Italy

Francesco is currently a PhD student in B-CUBE, Dresden, under the supervision of Yixin Zhang. His doctoral work includes the improvement of DNA-coded chemical libraries, for high-throughput drug screening.

In our project, Francesco was indispensable for the synthesis of the hydrophobically-modified oligonucleotides that hybridize to the DNA origami channel.

  • Mohamed Yassin

    Egypt

Mohamed Yassin is currently a third year doctoral candidate under the supervision of Professor Brigitte Voit at Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden e.V.
