== ChIP Seq ==

The BioMicroCenter supports ChIP (Chromatin Immunoprecipitation) sequencing using the Illumina platform. ChIPs are used to determine the presence of specific protein-DNA interactions genome-wide. It uses engineered antibodies to IP for the epitope of interest from sonicated chromatin. The IPed material can then be used for ChIP-qPCR (if only looking at a few select binding sites) or ChIP-Seq, for a more global view.

'''Users are required to fix their own cells and sonicate the chromatin prior to submission''' by following the corresponding Illumina [[BioMicroCenter:Protocols| Protocols]].  Our standard sonication protocol can be found at  [[BioMicroCenter:ChIP|ChIP Conditions]]
