Top 3 Topics

To be completed before spring break:

  1. Short proposal: What you're addressing and why (groups present in class in any form you feel necessary (power point, charts, posters, etc).
  2. Social Awareness project: How you're going to present and explain (creating awareness) your issue as well as mobilize change (could be in the form of advertisement, rally speech, film, 1st chapter + cover of a book, newspaper/magazine spread, etc). Use your imagination!

To be completed after spring break:

  1. Think Tank project: how you're going to approach "solving" the issue; 4-5 page proposal written for a relevant audience (i.e. letter to Congress, policy reform proposal, design for prototype/invention, etc.) The length, format, and content of your proposal will depend on your audience.
    • "solving" not necessarily how to completely eliminate the problem, but how do we improve the lives of those who are affected?
