Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS)

  • FBS comes frozen in a 500mL bottle and is stored in the -80°C Freezer.
  • Thaw in a water bath or overnight in the fridge.
  • In a sterile hood make 10x50mL aliquots of the FBS in 50mL falcon tubes.
  • IMPORTANT: If more FBS is required for Wash Buffer then make 5x20mL aliquots in the 'flip-cap' tubes and 8x50mL aliquots in 50mL falcon tubes.
  • Store in the -20°C freezer.

Penicillin/Streptomycin (P/S)

  • Thaw a 100mL bottle of P/S in the water bath.
  • In a sterile hood make 20x5mL aliquots in the 5mL screw cap tubes.
  • Store in the -20°C freezer.

Trypsin-EDTA (TE)

  • TE comes frozen in a 500mL bottle and is stored in the -20°C Freezer.
  • Thaw in a water bath or overnight in the fridge.
  • In a sterile hood make 11x45mL aliquots in 50mL falcon tubes (NOTE the 45mL aliquot size)
  • Store in the -20°C freezer.
